Blessings of Epiphany | Bendiciones de la Epifanía

Dear Families and Friends of St. Francis Xavier Parish,
“On entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures”
We celebrate the Solemn Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord, the revealing of the light of Christ to the nations, symbolized by the adoration by the Magi. This weekend we also welcome Dr. Ximena DeBroeck, our contact with Catholic Leadership Institute. It is very fitting timing, as the grant we received from CLI is to help us clarify the vision for our parish—to shine the divine light upon the gifts God has given our community in the spirits of all of our members, for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
We can hope that our welcome guests to our parish, who “on entering the house” of our beautiful historic church, or our bustling parish center, that they would joyfully behold the presence of our Lord, truly present in the Eucharist, and also truly present in our parish community, and that they would rejoice to behold our beautiful devotion to our Blessed Mother, most especially in her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, our holy mother who always points us toward her Son—"the child with Mary his mother.” And we hope that our guests, seeing the love and reverence of our worship, would feel at home to worship with us—"prostrating themselves and doing Him homage.” And that these welcome guests would soon desire to join our parish family, and bless us with the charisms, talents, and skills God has blessed them with, to add to the spiritual wealth of our parish charisms—that they “open their treasures.”
As we began the work with Kirby-Smith of evaluating our perceptions of our material and spiritual past and present, in forging a vision of our parish future, so this task is taken up by CLI to continue refining this process with the immense skill, experience, and data that they put at our service. Kirby-Smith continues to accompany us in our temporal journey, coming along side us as we meet with diocesan finance, as CLI accompanies us in our spiritual journey in the light of God’s presence, his guidance, and his love.

Estimadas familias y amigos de la parroquia St. Francis Xavier,
“Al entrar en la casa vieron al niño con María su madre. Se postraron y le rindieron homenaje. Luego abrieron sus tesoros”
Celebramos la Fiesta Solemne de la Epifanía del Señor, la revelación de la luz de Cristo a las naciones, simbolizada por la adoración de los Magos. Este fin de semana también damos la bienvenida a la Dra. Ximena DeBroeck, nuestro contacto con Catholic Leadership Institute. Es un momento muy apropiado, ya que la subvención que recibimos de CLI es para ayudarnos a aclarar la visión de nuestra parroquia: hacer brillar la luz divina sobre los dones que Dios ha dado a nuestra comunidad en el espíritu de todos nuestros miembros, para la gloria de Dios y la salvación de las almas.
Podemos esperar que nuestros invitados bienvenidos a nuestra parroquia, quienes “al entrar a la casa” de nuestra hermosa iglesia histórica, o de nuestro bullicioso centro parroquial, contemplen con alegría la presencia de nuestro Señor, verdaderamente presente en la Eucaristía, y también verdaderamente presente en nuestra comunidad parroquial, y que se regocijen al contemplar nuestra hermosa devoción a nuestra Santísima Madre, muy especialmente en su título de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, nuestra santa madre que siempre nos señala hacia su Hijo: "el niño con María su madre .” Y esperamos que nuestros invitados, al ver el amor y la reverencia de nuestra adoración, se sientan como en casa para adorar con nosotros, "postrándose y rindiéndole homenaje". Y que estos invitados bienvenidos pronto deseen unirse a nuestra familia parroquial y bendecirnos con los carismas, talentos y habilidades con los que Dios los ha bendecido, para aumentar la riqueza espiritual de nuestros carismas parroquiales: que “abran sus tesoros”.
A medida que comenzamos el trabajo con Kirby-Smith de evaluar nuestras percepciones de nuestro pasado y presente material y espiritual, para forjar una visión del futuro de nuestra parroquia, CLI asume esta tarea para continuar refinando este proceso con la inmensa habilidad, experiencia , y datos que ponen a nuestro servicio. Kirby-Smith continúa acompañándonos en nuestro viaje temporal, acompañándonos cuando nos reunimos con las finanzas diocesanas, mientras CLI nos acompaña en nuestro viaje espiritual a la luz de la presencia de Dios, su guía y su amor.
