Goodbye from Father Lynch | Adiós del Padre Lynch

My dearest brothers and sisters,
Well, it’s that time. I have been called to another parish for the good of the Church. I want to take this opportunity to say some things on my way out the door.
Firstly, thank you! Thank you to Father Mitzel and Father Kelley for being excellent mentors for me in my first years in the priesthood. You have both been patient with my many mistakes and helpful when I needed it. You have given me the freedom to try new things and held me to a standard I hope to live up to in my next assignment. Thank you to all those who work in the parish, whether in the office or at the school, for all the hard work you do every day for the good of the people of St Francis Xavier. It has been one of my greatest joys to work alongside you for the building up of the Kingdom. Thank you to our incredible volunteers who give of yourselves daily. The mission of our parish would be impossible without our sacristans, decorators, organizers, coordinators, leaders, extraordinary ministers, educators, lectors, cantors, musicians, and all those whose work is never seen by any but the eyes of God. Thank you to every member of this parish for your warm welcome, generosity, and kindness. And even for the challenges, thank you!
You have no idea how much you all mean to me. I have just a couple requests as I go. Please, please, please, pray for me and for the people of St Francis of Assisi. Pray for Father Dill who will be the new pastor there. Pray for Father Kelley and for Father Pray. I know that you will all love Father Pray as you have loved him already as the deacon here and as you have loved me. Go easy on him… at least for a while.

Mis queridos hermanos y hermanas,
Bueno, es ese momento. He sido llamado a otra parroquia por el bien de la Iglesia. Quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para decir algunas cosas al salir por la puerta.
Primero, ¡gracias! Gracias al Padre Mitzel y al Padre Kelley por ser excelentes mentores para mí en mis primeros años de sacerdocio. Ambos han sido pacientes con mis muchos errores y me han ayudado cuando lo necesitaba. Me han dado la libertad de probar cosas nuevas y me han mantenido en un estándar que espero cumplir en mi próxima asignación. Gracias a todos los que trabajan en la parroquia, ya sea en la oficina o en la escuela, por todo el arduo trabajo que realizan cada día por el bien de la comunidad de San Francisco Javier. Ha sido una de mis mayores alegrías trabajar junto a ustedes para la construcción del Reino. Gracias a nuestros increíbles voluntarios que se entregan a diario. La misión de nuestra parroquia sería imposible sin nuestros sacristanes, decoradores, organizadores, coordinadores, líderes, ministros extraordinarios, educadores, lectores, cantores, músicos y todos aquellos cuyo trabajo nunca es visto por nadie más que los ojos de Dios. Gracias a cada miembro de esta parroquia por su cálida bienvenida, generosidad y amabilidad. Y hasta por los desafíos, ¡gracias! No tienes idea de lo mucho que significan todos para mí.
Sólo tengo un par de solicitudes sobre la marcha. Por favor, por favor, por favor, oren por mí y por la comunidad de San Francisco de Asís. Ore por el Padre Dill, quien será el nuevo pastor allí. Oren por el Padre Kelley y por el Padre Pray. Sé que todos amarán al Padre Pray como lo han amado ya como diácono aquí y como me han amado a mí. Sean suaves con él... al menos por un tiempo.
